Troubleshooting

At the end of year 2021, WazzapMigrator had to be updated to comply with new Google-mandated policies in regards of files management. Such changes (called SAF) led to huge performance downgrades for apps accessing thousands of files.

In some cases it's possible the automatic check of previous Google Drive WhatsApp backups cannot be performed, for reasons outside our influence. You can disable this as shown in the interactive tutorial below.

Don't worry, this is totally expected immediately after import! Just give WhatsApp some time to index all the new messages, then you'll be able to search through the whole lot.

Please note: this could take some hours, depending on your phone and the number of messages.

Se WhatsApp non richiede di ripristinare da un backup LOCALE, come nella foto sotto, si consiglia di:

1. disabilitare i backup di WhatsApp su Google Drive - puoi riabilitarli non appena i messaggi iPhone siano stati recuperati
2. assicurati di disinstallare WhatsApp prima di utilizzare WazzapMigrator

If WhatsApp does not prompt to restore from LOCAL backup, like below, we suggest to:

1. disable WhatsApp Google Drive backups from PC (not from phone) - you can enable them back after iPhone messages have been imported

If you're getting a "Screen overlay detected" warning when running WazzapMigrator the first time, it means you have some other app running with "Draw over other apps" permission enabled.
